On and off the screen.



Dirt-smeared, sweat-drenched and with abnormally bulging lips, Taskin Goec’s digital models flex in front of an imaginary camera. Their glistening bodies are distorted by organic silhouettes, which challenge the proportions of human anatomy. Layers upon layers of frayed and pleated crepe georgette make up a sculptural dress which conceals the torso, while acid-washed denim trousers produce a grotesque hip, likening the model to a mythical creature. The outfits are adorned with flowing preserved amaranthus flowers. Welcome to the Technological Swamp.

The collection marks the completion of Goec’s master’s degree at the London College of Fashion. It was quite a change for the young creative, who took his first steps in the fashion industry in the up-and-coming Berlin. Now, back in his native city, he is leaving the Big Smoke behind and looks forward to the future of technology in fashion. Unlike many creatives who scratch their heads wondering how much time they have until artificial intelligence makes them redundant, Taskin has, in turn, employed the AI.
